Documentum was a company that created and delivered its enterprise content management software program of the same name. Now this Documentum software program is owned and distributed by the ECM Corporation. ECM acquired the Documetum in December of 2003 for $1.7 billion dollars.
The Documentum Software program is very popular in industries such as pharmaceutical, aerospace engineering, financial services, and the oil and gas industry. This program helped all of the employees involved in the business be able to have a central location to access in order to find out any information that they needed or to access any form of documents that they needed. This software program is very similar to a companies intranet.
